:: Life As Unexpected ::

It saddens and pains me to discover what a human being can actually do to one helpless soul. Sure! - we see and hear about them all the time on the news, movies and hearsays. But when that actually happens to someone very close and dear to you, reality hits hard! It still felt surreal and while in the midst of digesting what had just happened, the anger and disappointment directed upon this individual just crashes the hope of any sanity that's still left in this world! And then, it boils down to questioning why did God even let this happen in the first place?! But, having said that.. Lord, I pray that you will look upon this individual and your many astrayed children and forgive the wrongdoings. Amen.

:: Boo! ::

This is almost too spooky to write. It happened a while ago. While watching the horror, thriller flick -- What Lies Beneath on TV, my mobile phone rang. The time was approximately half an hour to midnight. Who could possibly be calling me at this hour?!

Incoming calls in the wee hours are never desirable. They usually mean:- 1) Bad News and 2) Wrong Number. The caller ID showed an unknown landline number. I answered the call, and expected it simply to be a case of that someone had dialed the wrong number. But, it turned out to be from the office instead -- the security guard. He sounded quite kan chiong and explained that the reason for calling was that from the CCTV, he saw someone was asleep on one of the desks in my department floor.

"No way! There's no way anyone could still be inside, let alone at this hour. Moreover, the main door has been locked.", I said to him. He said he could not make out who this person was as this person was facing backwards. I asked him if there were any vehicles belonging to the staff parked around the office are. He replied none. Then, I asked him to try intercom to see if anyone would pick up the telephone. But he dropped hints that he was not up for it. Well, okay.. he was pretty kan chiong lah, can't totally blame him for freaking out. But then, he's the Security Guard! And to think that we've put our trust, our lives in their hands all these times?! Sigh!

So, I made the call instead. No one picked up! *whew* Then, I called the security guard to let him know that no one picked up the telephone and urged him to try the intercom again. I also told him that there may be a possibility the CCTV had gone bonkers, perhaps showing still images of frames recorded earlier during the day. Thereafter, I called my Boss. He was taken aback by the whole thing as well. Who could possibly be doing graveyard shift?!? I told him of the possibility that the CCTV might have gone bonkers, showing only still images. But he said that's impossible. He said he will get someone to go over to have a look.

10 minutes later, he called back. No more fuss. The CCTV was indeed showing still images.

Imagine if all these were to happen in the 7th month in the lunar calendar. Hiaks!

:: Seriously? Seriously. ::

Seriously. In addition to the previous entry, I had another go at the quiz thingy. This time, I tried out - "Which Grey's Anatomy Woman Are You?". Well, since I've just finished watching Season 3 this afternoon, I'm still sort of in the Grey's Anatomy mood. Well, behold the results. I find the character of Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh) to be much more interesting towards the end of Season 3. Ahh.. can't wait for Season 4!

You scored as Addison Montgomery , You are Addison Montgomery! You are very kind. As a defense mechanism you pretend to not care what people think about you, but in reality it hurts you very deeply.

You scored as Hershey Bar, You are a Hershey Bar. You are smooth, original and somewhat old-fashioned. You like to socialize and have the same close childhood friends. Family is very important to you. You are a nice and kind person - the best of the best!

:: Icebows Sightings ::

My friend, Alex messaged me on MSN Messenger this morning to go out and have a look at the Sun. I was like - "Huh?" "Why?" "Eclipse?" Furthermore, I'm on the top floor of the office building and from the pantry area, I can't get a good view of the Sun directly. He further explained that the Sun looked really different today as it was accompanied by a ring of what it seems like a Rainbow surrounding it. Well, I was kind of sceptical at first as in whether it was a prank he's trying to play on me. Sorry, Alex!

Then I informed Angeline, a lady colleague of mine who's on the ground floor about the said phenomenon. After a while, she called me saying I should really come down and have a look at it myself. "It's beautiful!", she exclaimed.

I immediately went down and despite the scorching Sun, it was exceptionally hard to have a good look at the optical phenomena. It is exactly as what Alex described earlier - the Sun was surrounded by a ring of Rainbow. Words of the spectacular phenomenon spread throughout the office and those with cameras were snapping away. Here's what the sky looks like this morning.

:: Karma-ic Day ::

Okui simply loves to use the term karma on us. He's always going karma this and karma that, and especially when he couldn't win a say in the situation - well, playfully, of course Karma simply means what goes around comes around and how you treat another person is how you will be treated back eventually. It's like one good deed deserves another and vice versa thingy.

I had lunch with Shay and Okui yesterday at one of cafes serving Taiwanese-style food. I was the first to arrive. The place is usually packed at lunch hour. Aha! As soon as I went in, I spotted a vacant round table. As soon as I got myself seated, the waitress came over with the menu. Even before I browsed through the menu, I've already had in mind what to order. As soon as the waitress finished taking down my orders, Shay and Okui arrived - just in time for the waitress to continue taking orders. It sure saved her another trip to come over to our table again from the counter right at the end

Anyway, my attention was shifted when I suddenly saw a familiar face who was looking back at me as I was looking at the surrounding tables. It took me a while to *snap away* as I tried to recall who this person is. A long time friend. My ex. It's been ages since we last saw each other, let alone under the same roof. It's been almost half a decade since we last saw each other. We smiled and gestured a "Hi!". Okui and Shay had never saw him, and as I was thinking of how to gesture Shay about who I had just saw right across the table on the other side, she nudged me and showed me her mobile phone with the text - "is tat your x?" She has such photographic memory-lar. She'd only seen his photo once and she remembered! Well, not sure exactly how to actually tell Okui as this felt more like a ladies' thing... not until when my ex walked past our table as he was about to leave the cafe. He gestured a "Bye!" and I waved back. That's when Okui asked and I told him who was this friend of mine who had just walked past behind him. Afer the short episode, I thought to myself - "I've always imagined bumping into him when we're both old and having our families around.." Perhaps seeing me in such "deep thought", Shay whispered to me - "eh, don't worry la. I haven't bumped into my ex too..". "Karma" was my response to her And with this, kickstarts to further Q & A of our ex(Es).

Okui asked Shay about her ex - the one whom she went to prom with donkey years ago. He asked if she was still in contact with him, what he's doing now, and stuff like that. Shay explained that she hasn't been in touch with him, hasn't seen him for a long, long time and had a vague recollection that he did mention on becoming a doctor. The second she mentioned the word "doctor", she realized a pair of eyes from the opposite table straight ahead fixing on her.
Eeeks! It's HIM! Her ex! The doctor! Long life! *GULP!*

Wahahahahahaha!! LoL bigtime!! Oh Gosh! The 3 of us could hardly hold back laughing

Goodness, I tried holding back soOo very hard. It's going to look like we're rude or something. I hope that he would't think of us in any negative ways after this hilarious encounter.. hehehe! Well, how else should we react to such interesting once in a blue moon incident? It's hilariously unforgivable not to be able to let out laughs! Hehehe.. sorry though to... erm, I didn't get his name Seriously, what are the odds that both of us bumped into our ex at the same time, at same place of whom we have not seen for donkey years?

Okay, I'll say no more and here's a little something to end this entry:-
Shay relating the funny little incident herself :+: click here :+:

Enjoy!
